Notice: DCMA Board of Directors to Consider Bylaws Amendment Creating Affiliated Medical Associations
In accordance with the bylaws, please accept this communication as official notice that the DCMA Board of Directors will be considering the Bylaws Amendment Language linked below during their next meeting on January 23rd. This proposed Bylaw Amendment Language has passed the first reading by the Board of Directors on November 28th and is now eligible to receive a 2nd reading and final approval at the next Board Meeting.
Any members with any questions regarding the bylaws amendment language are encouraged to reach out to the DCMA office for additional information.
Summary of the Proposed Amendment
The proposed Bylaw Amendment will add new language to the DCMA Bylaws establishing a Membership Category and Privileges for Affiliated Medical Associations. This new Membership Category will enable other Medical Associations comprised of physicians in Miami-Dade County to apply for Affiliated Medical Association Status with the DCMA Board of Directors. If approved, the Association will pay an annual fee to the DCMA to be recognized and will be eligible for a series of benefits afforded to Affiliated Medical Associations. If the Association exceeds 75% of their members retaining individual physician membership status in the DCMA, the Affiliated Medical Association membership fee will be waived.
