Nelson L. Adams, M.D., F.A.C.O.G

Nelson Adams, M.D., a native of Miami, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who served as the Chairman of the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jackson North Medical Center and North Shore Medical Center for several years. Currently, he is president of the medical staff at Jackson North Medical Center. Dr. Adams has served on the board of directors for the DCMA and is also a past president. After several years on the Board of Trustees of the National Medical Association, he subsequently served as the 107th president, representing the organization’s nearly 40,000 African American physicians and the patients they serve.


Elizabeth Etkin-Kramer, M.D. 

Obstetrics & Gynecology

Elizabeth Etkin-Kramer, M.D. is a board-certified gynecologist on Miami Beach. She is an assistant professor of Ob/GYN at the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Etkin-Kramer is a past president of the Dade County Medical Association and current chair of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology Patient Safety and Quality Initiative for District XII (Florida). Her interest is breast and ovarian cancer risk assessment and prevention. In 2017, she founded the nonprofit Yodeah, to educate and facilitate cost-effective genetic testing for hereditary cancer genes in the Ashkenazi Jewish and other high-risk communities..

Damaris Mafut, D.O. set out to begin her own pediatric medical practice to change the face of health care in South Florida. Jorge Marcos, M.D. 

Neurology

Jorge Marcos, M.D., a neurologist with First Choice Neurology, focuses on the treatment of memory and movement disorders. He attended medical school at the University of San Carlos in Guatemala and residency and fellowship at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Marcos has conducted numerous lectures to increase awareness of Alzheimer’s disease, especially in the Hispanic community. He’s a member of the American Academy of Neurology, Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Society, American Epilepsy Society, Florida Medical Association, and Dade County Medical Association, and has a faculty appointment at the Herbert Wertheim Medical College of Medicine at Florida International University.

 

Rudolph Moise, D.O., M.B.A., J.D. 

Family Medicine & Pain Management

Rudolph Moise, D.O. is President and CEO of Comprehensive Health Center, LLC, a large primary health care practice in Dade and Central Florida. He practices family medicine and pain management. Dr. Moise is also CEO of the Physician Access Urgent Care Group, a Managed Service Organization (MSO) which manages 40 medical practices in Florida. He is a member of multiple boards including the Dade County Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, and Jackson Memorial Foundation. Dr. Moise retired from the Air Force Reserve after 21 years of honorable service as a Colonel and Flight Surgeon.

 

Andrew Nullman, M.D. 

Gastroenterology

Andrew Nullman, M.D., president of Venture Gastroenterology, LLC., advocates for policies which positively impact the health and safety of patients. Dr. Nullman is a DCMA past-president, and currently serves as DCMA Political Action Committee president. He’s also a member of the City of Miami Beach Health Advisory Committee. Dr. Nullman graduated from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at The City College of New York and The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. His postgraduate training included an internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and a gastroenterology fellowship at New York University/New York VA Medical Center.

 

Lauren Shapiro, M.D. 

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Lauren Shapiro, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami. After earning her medical degree from SUNY- Stony Brook, she completed her PM&R residency at the Northwestern University program at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where she served as Chief Resident. In 2014, she was among the first physicians to earn subspecialty board certification in Brain Injury Medicine. Dr. Shapiro provides expert care to facilitate functional recovery following traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other neurological conditions. She practices at the new Lynn Rehabilitation Hospital (Jackson Health System) and at UHealth.

 


Delvena Thomas, D.O. 

Psychiatry & Neurology

Delvena Thomas, D.O. is a mother, soldier, scientist, and physician who advocates for healthy living to strengthen individuals, families, communities, and workplaces around the world. Dr. Thomas is a champion for sound mental health and an expert in the development of evidence-based prevention. Trained at the University of Maryland Medical Systems in Baltimore, Dr. Thomas is board-certified in psychiatry and neurology, and maintains a private practice in psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and alternative health. She is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves and a veteran of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Dr. Thomas founded the nonprofit organization, The DRT Brain Love Foundation in 2018.
